20th Century Fox exec
Anthony J. “Tony” Hope, former director of business affairs at 20th Century Fox and the eldest son of Bob and Dolores Hope, died Monday June 28 after a brief illness. He was 63.
Tony Hope graduated Loyola High School in Los Angeles, Georgetown U. and Harvard Law School. He served in the Air Force before taking the business affairs post at Fox.
In 1975, he moved to Washington, D.C. and entered government service. He served under four presidents: He was vice president for the Overseas Private Investment Corp. under President Ford; President Carter named him to the Government Management Improvement Council; President George H.W. Bush named him chair and CEO of the Indian Gaming Commission; and he remained in the post under President Clinton.
In 1986, Hope ran for Congress as a Republican in California.

Besides his mother, he is survived by wife Paula Nickey Hope, ex-wife Judith Richards Hope, a son, a daughter, a sister and a brother.
