An Aug. 8-9 Morning Consult/The Hollywood Reporter poll found that a slim majority — 54 percent — of adults prefer awards shows with hosts, while 6 percent prefer a hostless telecast. The survey polled 2,200 adults and had a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
Nielsen data shows that viewership for awards shows, including the Academy Awards and the Primetime Emmys, has been on the decline. In 2018, both telecasts brought in record-low viewership: Just over 26.
NCDC Records 1270 New Cases Of COVID-19
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 1270 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria. Naija News reports that the new cases were reported in a post on the disease control agency’s Twitter handle on Tuesday night, January 12, 2021.
The newly reported cases bring the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 102,601 which includes 81,574 discharged cases and 1,373 deaths.
Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Lagos State having the highest number of cases followed by Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Police shut down Davido's concert in New York
HKN Music hit-maker, Davido’s concert was reportedly shut down by the in Brooklyn, New York Police Department last night March 28th.
The concert which held at Pulse 48 was reportedly shut down because it was overbooked, leading to safety concerns.
The show was supposed to be Davido's first show as he kicks off US/Canada Tour 2014.
